Dream in High Park: Comedy of Errors

Photo of Bradley Brackenridge and Anthony Malarky by Lucas Oleniuk

Met Jahn and Jess at Thai4You (1675 Bloor St W. at Keele,416 533-2221)for dinner at 6:30. From the many Vegetarian choices we ordered: spicy eggplant, ginger tofu and vegetable curry. Great service and very good value for money.
Walked to the Dream in High Park site where we were greeted enthusiastically by the many volunteers. The outdoor amphitheatre is surprisingly comfy and the sound system and lighting suit the site well. Many folk had brought blankets and/or lawn chairs, snacks or a full picnic. The production was fun, fresh and unstuffy. I was particulary captivated by the twin servants Dromio of Ephesus and Dromio of Syracuse played by Brackenridge and Malarky pictured above.
The Canadian Stage producion of The Comedy of Errors runs Tuesday to Sunday at 8pm from June 27 and September 3(about 1 and a half hours with no intermission). It is "Pay what you can" and the suggested donation is $15. Read a play synopsis here.

High Park Zoo

Walked to High Park to meet Jahrell for 2 pm. His arrival was delayed by road construction on The Queensway. Lunch at the Grenadier Teahouse - Veggie burger for me, Beef burger for him.
Strolled through the park zoo and enjoyed watching and photographing the animals which include llamas, yak, bison, deer, barbary sheep, peafowl and more. We were surprised to see a pair of capybaras nibbling grass in the shade. A stranger site was to be seen in the wallaby pen where local wildlife, a red fox and a ground hog, were peacefully browsing alongside a wallaby.
We scoped out the Dream in the Park amphitheatre were I would be returning that evening with Jahn and Jess.
